About Drug-Free India Mission

Our mission at Drug-Free India is to build a country in which every citizen has the liberty to live, and lead an addiction-free life. We know the tremendous emotional, social and financial strain substance abuse places on families and communities. We’re committed to prevention, intervention, rehabilitation and support at all stages. We work to lead individuals with dignity, respect and compassion from active addiction to full recovery through building a culture of recovery in communities where substance use cannot thrive.

We have a dedicated team of trained professionals, rehabilitation partners, counselors, teachers and volunteers who are working passionately around India. Our staff has been working in addiction prevention and recovery programs for countless years; it is our goal to provide individualized care that’s rooted in community support. We believe wholeheartedly that recovery is achievable with a caring support system, clear treatment plans and a stimulating atmosphere. Our work makes sure nobody will be left to walk alone in their path to a clean and sober life.

We don’t just help those in addiction get through – we train up families to aid in recovery with confidence. We support the individuals in re-creating their strength and identity by the means of awareness, skill-based sessions, guidance and lifestyle-development. In addition to professional therapy, our comprehensive treatment includes exercise and meditation classes as well as nutrition plans and personal development activities. We promote the mental, emotional and physical well-being of individuals as they gain confidence in themselves and which enables them to live independently in the community.

It is not just about recovering this time, it’s about preventing it and effecting change on a deeper level. We focus on education in schools, communities, working places and talk shows encouraging young people of harmful drug abuse. We also focus on reducing social stigma associated with addiction, encouraging people to seek help sooner rather than later. Together, however, we are creating a future in which every citizen gives his share to the great work of national sanitation. If this support and this participation is sustained, we are effortful enough in our belief to feel that India can really be a drug free country and an empowered nation for the coming generations.
